Family | Better Beginnings for Kingston Children

Better Beginnings for Kingston Children

Today I photographed a Better Beginnings group at the Kingston Community Health Centre. It's a group dedicated to families with young children from North Kingston who need a leg up.

I'm doing stock photos for KCHC to use in their communications and annual reports.

Weddings | Leigh and Pat's wedding at Steam Whistle Brewery in Toronto

Wedding at Steam Whistle Brewery in Toronto, Ontario

My first wedding of the 2010 season was a second shooting gig with wedding photojournalist Scott Williams of Capturing the Light Photography. The ceremony was at the Pantages Hotel with the reception at Steam Whistle Brewery. Steam Whistle is a great place to shoot - a nice, big, wide-open room.

I got to try my RadioPopper JRx's with my Alien Bee lights ... and it was all that I hoped it would be. I was able to control my light power from camera position, and that was fabulous! So much fun to just shoot and not have to run over to the lights every few minutes to tweak the power or have to mess with my depth-of-field to control the flash exposure.

Thanks to Scott for letting me shoot with him and Leigh and Pat as well.

Portraits | Lucas and Melissa - Portraits

Lucas and Melissa - Portraits

Melissa and Lucas from Winding Violets asked me to do some portraits of them for their beautiful new website and company launch. Photographers are particularly hard to shoot, but we made it work.

News | My new business cards - done right!

My new business cardsMy new business cards

I have always loved the look of white ink on kraft paper, so when I designed the branding for Forbes Photographer I knew I wanted to try it. But white ink on dark paper is hard to do well, so I had a little faith and used Mama's Sauce out of Orlando, Florida (a long way away, I know).

The first batch of cards had some minor problems, but they redid them and now they look super cool and I love them.

Baby Naomi - Baby and Family Portraits

Brandon and Karen wanted some new photos of their two boys and their new addition, Naomi. I was happy to oblige and spend some fun time with them all.
