I'm going to start posting my favourite pictures from my 2009 weddings. Starting with my last wedding of 2009, Alexis and Matt's wedding in Ottawa.

It was a lovely, intimate affair, with both the ceremony and reception being held at the Courtyard Restaurant in Ottawa's Byward Market. Alexis and Matt were both super laid back and most interested in having a good time and in connecting with all their friends and family - my favourite kind of people!

Ceremony and reception was at The Courtyard Restaurant (http://www.courtyardrestaurant.com), flowers were by Greenbank Flowers (http://www.greenbankflowers.com) and the awesomest cupcakes ever were by Little Cakes (http://www.littlecakes.ca).

My Cuban friend, Tony, took us to Havana for the afternoon. I was disappointed that there was no direct sun, as it was practically sundown by the time we got there, but when it got dark that made up for it. Havana is very sparsely lit, and mostly lit by hard sources - flourescent striplights and direct blubs. So there were pools of light and textures standing out everywhere.

Now added to my travel list is spending an entire night shooting in Havana.

I finally figured out how to use my printer to print disc labels. I've only had the printer for a year and it took this long to get around to doing this. So here's a sample of what my discs will look like.

Travel | Cuba - The Tropicana in Matanzas

So, back in February, my girlfriend and I went to Varadero, Cuba for a week. Stay tuned for some photos of Havana, which was a couple hours' drive away. But on the last day, we took a bus trip to the Tropicana show in nearby Matanzas. It's a replica of the famous Havana show.

As luck would have it, our seats were in the EXACT middle of the venue. It would have really bugged me to have to shoot askew from the stage.

The night ended with me dancing with two of the dancers, on stage (doing the 'Old-Man Shuffle') in exchange for 2 pesos. It was a fun night!
